Tui
The tui is endemic to new zealand which means it is unique and can only be found on our shores. However its existence is threatened by humans and pests.
The Tui has a rather large curved beak with a thin long tongue to reach the nectar of its favorite flowers. Tui’s feathers are iridescent colours and in the light they seem to change colour. The most important part of identifying a tui is under there chin is a one of a kind two white feathers called a poi.
The Tui is most commonly found in the north island, west and south coast of the south island. Stewart and Chatham islands. Scarce in Canterbury the Tui prefers forest and needs shrubs and trees plus sources of nectar in 1800’s, maori and europeans hunted them and used skin to line womens hats the Tui’s habitat walls destroyed and pets were introduced . Stoats are a predator and compete for food or take eggs.
The Tui is scarce to new zealand and may never exist again in new zealand and any other country. So go out and help by doing something little or even if your lunch wrappers blow away catch it and you are saving a bird just like that. HELP SAVE THE BIRDS !!!!

Hi Poppy, Good work on publishing your report. CHALLENGE: Check the word there in the sentence 'under there chin' remember their is belonging to someone/thing, there = over there. Check for capital letters on all your proper nouns - names of people or places and that all your sentences make sense.
